CEO's Message : Dinesh Jotwani

I am glad to start my legal practice in tough conditions of Delhi District Courts. Daily, my senior would direct me to visit a nearby legal library for research -- placing my hands on the top of the shelf to take tens of citations and finally standing in queue to get photocopies was a routine. The year was 1994, when there was no Google, no iPADs or Microsoft Word Documents. It was the time when Apple and Blackberry were fruits we enjoyed at home. Now they are potent gadgets to be seen in the hands of lawyers. No doubt, the noble profession seems to be dominated by big businesses of law firms, lobbyists and LPOs.

INBA was given birth by lawyers who had brush with legal systems of U.S., U.K., Japan, Australia, Singapore and China. Founders soon realized that there were challenges in the Indian Legal System and Bureaucracy. No other body -- other than a collection of Legal Community-- can bring this change to India and this constitute INBA mission and goals.

Like any major change in history, there needs to participation by an Interest Group. I would welcome and call upon Advocates, Attorneys, Eminent Judges, Multinational Corporate & Businesses, Law Firms, Legal Fraternity and Professionals, Senior Government Officials, Law Students and Professors, NGOs, Litigants, Law Publishers and Vendors, Groups, Associations to come forward and do your bit.
